About Destination PharmD

The Destination PharmD program is a dynamic educational initiative designed to inspire and empower students pursuing careers in healthcare, with a special focus on pharmacy. Grounded in the insights and strategies outlined in the Destination PharmD book, this program equips students with the tools, motivation, and guidance they need to successfully navigate their journey toward professional success.

Through engaging sessions tailored for high school and undergraduate students, Destination PharmD combines practical advice with inspiration, helping participants gain the confidence and clarity needed to achieve their goals.

4-Week Combined Curriculum

Session Length:

1–2 hours per session, with time split between shared activities and group-specific adjustments.


Week 1: Exploring Pharmacy and Healthcare Careers

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the role and impact of pharmacists in healthcare.
  • Explore diverse career paths in pharmacy, including clinical, retail, research, and industry roles.
  • Recognize the evolving opportunities for pharmacists in community health and wellness.

Activities:

  • Shared Activity: Interactive presentation on pharmacy pathways, featuring real-world case studies of pharmacists in diverse roles.
  • High School Activity: Career mapping: Students outline their future career steps and identify key milestones.
  • Undergraduate Activity: Guided exploration of specialized pharmacy roles, including networking strategies.

Week 2: Preparing for a Successful Career Journey

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand academic prerequisites and planning strategies for pharmacy careers.
  • Learn how to build a competitive profile through leadership, internships, and extracurriculars.
  • Develop an individualized “Career Readiness Action Plan.”

Activities:

  • Shared Activity: Workshop on academic and extracurricular planning.
  • High School Activity: Create a high school academic and activity plan, focused on college readiness.
  • Undergraduate Activity: Research planning: Identify and map out pre-requisite courses, research opportunities, and internships.

Week 3: Building Confidence and Communication Skills

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the importance of effective communication in healthcare.
  • Develop public speaking, professional writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Build confidence through interactive practice and feedback.

Activities:

  • Shared Activity: Communication workshop: Role-play scenarios focused on professional contexts.
  • High School Activity: Practice introducing themselves in academic or extracurricular settings, with peer feedback.
  • Undergraduate Activity: Mock interviews for pharmacy school or internships, with tailored feedback.

Week 4: Navigating Pharmacy School Applications

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the pharmacy school application process, including timelines and requirements.
  • Explore scholarship and financial aid opportunities.
  • Develop skills for interviews and professional networking.

Activities:

  • Shared Activity: Interactive Q&A: Break down application components and provide example scenarios.
  • High School Activity: Brainstorming session: Drafting themes for a personal statement.
  • Undergraduate Activity: Hands-on review of application elements, including financial aid research and crafting standout essays.

The Benefits of Breathe On The Bridge For Attendees

Stress Relief and Mindfulness:

Engaging in wellness activities such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices provides participants with effective tools to manage stress. The serene and natural environment of Steele Bridge enhances the calming effect, promoting mental well-being and a sense of peace.

 

 

 

Physical Well-Being and Fitness:

The diverse range of activities, including yoga, dance, and H.I.I.T., caters to various fitness levels and preferences. Participants can improve their physical health, flexibility, and overall fitness while enjoying the unique and dynamic atmosphere of exercising outdoors on Steele Bridge.

 

 

 

Community Connection and Social Engagement:

"Breathe On the Bridge" fosters a sense of community by providing a space for individuals to connect, share experiences, and build relationships. The communal atmosphere encourages social engagement, creating a supportive network of like-minded individuals on a wellness journey.

Pricing Tiers

Tier 1: Standard Program

  • 4 sessions for high school students (1-2 hours each).
  • Digital access to all presentation materials.
  • Group Q&A sessions at the end of each session.

Value: $6,000 ($1,500/session)
Your Price: $4,000 ($1,000/session)


Tier 2: Enhanced Program

Includes everything in Tier 1, plus:

  • Separate sessions for undergraduate students (1 hour each, up to 4 sessions).
  • Personalized follow-up emails with application tips.

Value: $12,800 ($1,500/session for high school + $1,700/session for undergraduates)
Your Price: $8,800 ($1,000/session for high school + $1,200/session for undergraduates)


Tier 3: Premium Program with eBooks

Includes everything in Tier 2, plus:

  • Digital copies of Destination PharmD for all participating students.
  • Daily motivational/inspirational emails during the program.
  • Weekly tips on getting accepted into pharmacy school.

Value: $13,800 ($12,800 + $1,000 for eBooks at $20/student for 50 students)
Your Price: $9,300 ($8,800 + $500 for eBooks at $10/student for 50 students)


Tier 4: Premium Program with Physical Books

Includes everything in Tier 3, plus:

  • Physical copies of Destination PharmD for all participating students.
  • Optional personalized book signing session.

Value: $16,300 ($13,800 + $2,500 for physical books at $50/student for 50 students)
Your Price: $10,550 ($9,300 + $1,250 for physical books at $25/student for 50 students)
